The Unarmed Combatives Training (UCT) workshop, is a fully interactive, Reality-Based Protection Course and is one of Canadian Combatives’ most popular offerings.
This short UCT course instructs participants to build a personal physical response system based upon instinctual defensive moments, augmented with Combative Movement and Power Strikes that will disrupt and neutralize an attackers aggressive physical actions.
Once the attack has been disrupted the defender has created time to discern the situation and decide upon the proper course of action based on a myriad of options.
These options take into consideration the safety of persons first, followed by an awareness of the legal consequences based upon applied actions. In summary the skills you learn are designed to keep you safe and out of jail.
The UCT workshop is a 5-hour course taught by instructors with years of experience in real-world applied defense. This course will introduce participants to verbal confrontation management strategies with a focus on de-escalation skills.
“Talk it down and walk away!”
Participants will also learn basic body movement, combined with empty hand strikes to defend themselves should a physical attack occur.
“Attack your attacker”.
By course completion, participants will have repeatedly used their newfound skills to assess danger, set boundaries, and respond effectively to verbal and physical aggression.
Participants will have the opportunity to apply what they have learned by using strikes and techniques against a staff instructor outfitted in specially designed protective gear. This unique exhilarating experience provides a tremendous amount of self-confidence for participants when they experience first-hand, the effectiveness of striking someone for personal protection.
